Recently had an opportunity to visit
Convergence Vineyards. They are located a few miles down Highway 124 just
over the creek and to the left. The winery is named for the three creeks
which converge on the property, the Amador, Rancheria, and Dry Creek all
come together nearby which makes for a beautiful setting. The tasting room
is new and tidy and is staffed by the knowledgeable owners Jamie and Stephen
Concannon who were a pleasure to talk to. The wines currently offered
included Viognier, Mourvedre, Barbera, Zin, Syrah, Petit Syrah, and port. I
found all of the wines to be quite good, but of particular note to me were
the Zin and the Mourvedre which I thought stood out. I am looking forward to
my next visit to see how this new winery progresses. I would certainly
recommend this winery to anyone. |
