Sobon Estate is the location of the historic Uhlinger/D'Agostini
Vineyards. This winery is most likely the oldest continuously
operated winery in the area. In addition, they have an on-site
museum detailing some of the old wine making artifacts and tools of the
trade. This is a fascinating stop along Shenandoah Road and should not
be missed by anyone who enjoys local history. All of the wines are
good, but I recommend the "Rocky Top Zin" most of all. The
Rhone Rose and Primitivo are solid too. In
addition, they have a nice muscat, viognier, and syrah.
