Story Winery is located off of Bell Road in the Shenandoah valley.  Story focuses on their Zinfandels and a unique Mission.  The old Mission vines which are located adjacent to the tasting room never cease to amaze me.  I believe they were either planted by John J. Davis or Hugh H. Bell just prior to the turn of the century.  The vines resemble a gnarled tree and they are still used in production for the winery.  I prefer the "Red Passion Zin" as opposed to the "Creekside" or "Alitia".  This is good news for me because the "Red Passion" is one of the lowest cost bottles.  In addition to producing high quality zins, Story Winery is a Favorite Picnic Spot.  They have beautiful grounds and plenty of picnic tables for your enjoyment.  Also, Story Winery is one of the few foothill wineries which produce a sparkling wine.  Give it a try!
