Villa
Toscano is located in the famous Shenandoah Valley portion of Amador
County. Toscano obviously likes to promote an Italian atmosphere and
several Italian varietals. On my last visit, they were pouring
Viognier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon/Semillon, Sangiovese, Barbera, Shenandoah
Zin, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Fox old vine Zin. Far and away
my favorite was the "Fox Old Vine Zin". I found it to be
true to the variety and true to the region. Villa Toscano offers a
fabulous facility and they are in the process of building a bistro on the premises.
In addition, at least on weekends, Toscano is always doing a barrel
tasting with the opportunity to purchase futures. As far as every
day wine tasting Hors' d'ourves, Toscano reigns supreme! See for
yourself.
