At 25,000
cases per year, Lava Cap is certainly a major wine maker in El Dorado
County. Lava Cap has recently added the capacity for production of
50,000 cases. The wines at Lava Cap always seem to exceed our expectations. Whenever we leave Lava Cap, we find ourselves
discussing our favorite wines of the county and Lava Cap wines are
certainly among our favorites. Lava Cap produces super premium wines
and therefore, there are not any bargain basement prices. However,
if you want a guaranteed sierra foothills stand-out, fabulous wine, this
is the place to go. Lava Cap produces, Zinfandel, Petit Syrah,
Merlot, Chardonnay, Semillon, Fume Blanc, just to name a few. We
enjoy visiting Lava Cap in the winter and warming up to the wood stove in
the tasting room. Lava Cap is also an excellent picnic location and
it offers fabulous views of the Sierra Foothills. All varieties
tasted are consistently outstanding. We would highly recommend Lava
Cap wines and we always look forward to our next trip to this premium
Sierra wine maker.
