| Venezio is
located about 4 miles beyond Coloma on Highway 49 when traveling towards
Auburn. It is situated in the beautiful rolling hills near the
American River where James Marshall discovered gold so long ago.
Recently we had the pleasure of tasting the wines at Venezio. At the
time, they were tasting Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Red Table Wine,
Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and a nice
Port. In particular I enjoyed the Cab Franc and found it to be among
the best in the area it had strong pungent fruit and a pleasant
finish. I would have to say that I found Venezio to be very solid
across the board. The winery and facility were built fairly recently
and everything has a new and modern feel to it. Recently, they have
expanded the outside area to accommodate large parties and winery
events. I will be looking forward to attending :)
