   Let's set the record straight.  Zinfandel is the king of the grapes in the foothills.  If there is any variety which sets the sierra foothills apart, it would certainly be Zinfandel.  The Zinfandel grape has a bit of a mysterious past.  It's origins seem to always be in question.  It has been called several things including "Zinfindall", "Zinfinthal" and "Black St. Peters".  We just prefer to call it "delicious".

     My friends... this was a difficult list to create and it is not to be taken lightly.  A Zin is a serious grape, with serious taste and it deserves to be treated with respect.  Keep in mind that this list is ever changing and continuously updated.  Sometimes, the elusive "best zins" can go from one establishment to the next.  We will do our best to track them down for you and let you in on the truth.
